The Eagle Mountain Knights boys tennis team started their season with an exciting preseason match against Arlington Heights on Saturday, Aug. 17. The competition opened with a thrilling #1 doubles match that went into a tie-breaker, ending in a close 9-8 victory for the Knights. The #2 boys doubles team, featuring talented freshmen, found their rhythm and secured a commanding win. In singles play, the #1 match was another nail-biter as Joel Horton faced off against a skilled 5.4 UTR opponent, ultimately falling in a hard-fought 8-6 battle. The rest of the team stepped up, winning their respective matches for a final score of 7-1.
The Eagle Mountain Knights will begin district play today, August 20, against Mineral Wells at home, with the match starting at 4:15 pm.
