Tuesday night was a BIG showdown for the Knights, riding high off a three game win streak. Eagle Mountain took the court by storm in the first two sets of the evening. The ivory-coated crowd and WFAA's cameras watched in awe as the girls in black secured back-to-back triumphs over the visiting Lady Eagles, scoring a narrow 26-24 and a decisive 25-14 immediately following. Unfortunately, however, their opponent wasn't going down without a fight, and Argyle began to pick up steam in the latter half of the bout. A strong Knight defense kept them from pulling ahead, but the Lady Eagles managed to just narrowly even up the score by stealing wins in the third set with 21-25 and the fourth with 20-25. Locked in a tie, it was the fifth and final set that would determine who ultimately came away victorious; and after an extremely tense back and forth, Eagle Mountain just barely came up short with a 13-15 final score. Thought it wasn't the outcome the girls were hoping for, their performance remained at the same exceptional standard it has all season long.
Friday, September 18th, the Knights head across town to duke it out with their district-mates, the Lady Rangers of Chisholm Trail.
