The Knights were sitting pretty at the end of the first third on Tuesday. Taking an early lead, the team was ahead 6-0 by the end of the third inning. The fourth, however, was where things began to pick up quickly. Lake Worth found a gap in Eagle Mountain's armor and scored a staggering eight runs to claim the lead. This kick the entire game into overdrive with both teams vying for the top spot with an intense pitching battle. On the mound, BJ Monterrosas lead the defense with five strikeouts over a two-inning period. Max Burris was at the tip of the spear on offense, going 2-4 with two doubles and three runs batted in. Everett Mason, Connor Jenkins, and Trep Sanchez helped stack the score with runs of their own. Sadly, though, the Knights were unable to regain the momentum they had started with and fell behind Lake worth in a close 8-11 loss.
The Knights rematch Lake Worth on Friday, April 25th, at the Eagle Mountain home field.
