With the semester back in full swing, the Knights took a few swings of their own on the softball diamond against Springtown Tuesday. A fierce competition between both teams had fans on the edge of the seat the entire afternoon. Neither Eagle Mountain or the Lady Porcupine were willing to give much ground, and what little was taken was earned through major effort on their part as defense remained strong until the very end. Karah Cardinal, the starting pitcher went four innings and surrendered only two run (one earned) while striking out three. Payton Soriano helped get the girls on the board with one run batted in, and Ashlyn Eggleton went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead the team in hits. Sadly, however, Springtown managed to sneak in one run more than the Knights and steal the win 2-1, but Eagle Mountain proved themselves a talented and difficult team to overcome.
Friday, March 27th, the Knights are away and headed to Burkburnett for their next matchup.
