Drawing closer to the end of their second season, the Knights continue to make vast improvements with every meet, and the district tournament was no different as they faced off against several talented teams.
For the gentlemen, all of them took to the mats and fought to win. Amassing enough points to finish at the middle of the pack in 11th place, the boys managed to bring home two bronze medals between two competitors. Keegan Carr and Jayceon Gray landed themselves on the podium at 3rd and snagged spots to compete in the upcoming regional tournament.
On the ladies' end, they proved themselves formidable foes by sending six in and bringing back six placements. An unstoppable machine, the Knights finished fifth overall, secured five regional qualifications, and names two district champions. Ty'Asia Buxton and Joceline Bilolo snagged gold medals with teammates Safa Razi, Bristol Busch, London Wyatt, and Lily Cowan joining them for the competition at regionals.
Both Knights teams send their champions to the Lubbock Memorial Civic Center on Friday, February 6th, and Saturday, February 7th, for the Region 1-5A tournament to vye for a spot at the state tournament.
