In a staggering upset, the Lady Knights made EMHS history last Friday by becoming the first team to claim the Bi-District Championship title! The girls faced off against Western Hills, and it was apparent that they were in their element from the very first inning. They jumped into an early lead in the bottom of the first after two errors and a single from Ava Balentine score three runs in the short time at bat. Ashlyn Eggleton aided in two more runs with a single at the bottom of the second and returned in the third, with a walk alongside Hannah Griggs and triple by Payton Soriano, to aid in bringing the Lady Knights up 15-0 by the conclusion of the game. Eggleton also played a vital role on defense, giving up no runs and striking out nine!
The girls have secured themselves a spot in the Area Playoffs, heading to Stephenville on Thursday and Friday, May 1st and 2nd, to take on Snyder High School's Lady Tigers.
