The Lady Knights started off their weekend strong with their fifth consecutive win since the end of March. Starting off on the back foot, the girls were down 0-1 against the Eagles up until the third inning where they effectively turned the tide, with Ashlyn Eggleton and Hannah Griggs both scoring one run and putting the girls over the top 2-1. Karah Cardinal, Ava Balentine, and Zoe Hawthorne added to the scoreboard throughout the game, pushing the team further in the lead and rounding out the evening with a 5-1 win.
On defense, Eggleton lead the charge from the circle, giving up only one hit and one run over her seven inning stint but striking out a staggering nine batters and walking just four. Her performance not only contributed heavily to the Lady Knights' victory but also to her personal accomplishment of 100 strikeouts over the season.
The Lady Knights are on the road Tuesday, April 15th, to take on JJ Pearce High School with hopes to continue the win streak going.
