The Lady Knights finished out last week with another huge win, this time against Bridgeport but with much of the same results as their previous game. Eagle Mountain was on the board by inning one with Ashlyn Eggleton, Olivia Wilson, and Ava Balentine each scoring one run. This trend continued into the second inning, the team scoring a whooping 14 runs in just one round at the plate. Head coach Erin Jayjohn laid out the scoring over that inning as follows:
"Zoe Hawthorne tripled, scoring one run, Karah Cardinal hit a sacrifice fly, scoring one run, Ava Balentine singled, scoring one run, Adysson Goforth drew a walk, scoring one run, Simiya Oliver singled, scoring two runs, Hawthorne doubled, scoring two runs, Ashlyn Eggleton singled, scoring one run, Hannah Griggs doubled, scoring two runs, and Balentine singled, scoring three runs."
On top of an astonishing offensive game, Eggleton held down the fort on defense in the circle, allowing only one hit and zero runs over three innings, striking out six and walking none. Neither did the team out in the field commit a single error, helping end the game in a 17-0 victory. Nice job out there, ladies!
The girls are away on Tuesday, April 8th, taking on the Castleberry Lions.
