The Lions were no match for the strength of the Lady Knights as they faced off in the last match before spring break. Scoring a staggering 11 runs in the fourth inning, Eagle Mountain set foot on the diamond to dominate and did just that. Zoe Hawthorne helped lead the way for the ladies on offense, landing three hits in three at-bats over the course of the game and chalking up two runs in total. Karah Cardinal added three points with Olivia Wilson, Ashlyn Eggleton, Payton Soriano, and Hannah Griggs following close behind with one point each. Defensively, the girls continued to play like champions, working together like a well-oiled machine to block almost every attempt their opponents made to find their way around the field. By the bottom of the ninth, the Lady Knights had amassed 16 points and almost completely shut out Castleberry who managed to slip through with one point.
The Lady Knights are on the road Tuesday, March 25, taking on Springtown and looking to keep this momentum going.
