The surprise dust storm was nothing but a backdrop for the whirlwind the Knights kicked up on their home turf. In an exhilaratingly close matchup, Eagle Mountain went toe-to-toe with Burkburnett in what was undoubtedly the most exciting game of the season thus far. The boys were on fire at bat, Max Burris hitting the first cycle in EMHS history with a double, trible, and a home run, and Alex Wilt driving in four on-base runners and hitting a triple. On the mound, Caden Lewis spearheaded the defense with a total of four strikeouts within two innings. The combined efforts of the team on both side of the ball helped them pull ahead of their equally talented opponent by one run, finishing out the game with a final score of 18-17 and making the Knights 2-0 in their first district season.
The Knights are away on Tuesday, March 25, battling it out against Krum and looking to continue their win streak.
