Leslie Crook
Coach Leslie Crook
has an impressive 43 year tenure as a head tennis coach in Texas, including 12
years with EMS ISD. Within EMS ISD Coach Crook has made an impact at Chisholm
Trail, Boswell, Wayside and Prairie Vista Middle School. In addition to coaching
at multiple schools, Crook has served as the district tennis facilitator and
contributed significantly to enhancing our middle school tennis programs. She
established the EMS Tennis Academy, offering free training for second grade to high
school players and initiated the "Friday Night Lights" program for
high school players which ran from 2014 to 2020.
Coach
Crook's contributions to tennis have been acknowledged at both state and
national levels. In 2016, she was honored by the USTA Junior Development
Program in Texas, recognizing her outstanding efforts in nurturing young
talent. The same year, Coach Crook was named the USTA National No-Cut Coach of
the Year, highlighting her inclusive and supportive approach to coaching. In
2019, Coach Crook's excellence was recognized by the Tennis Channel, where she
was a runner-up for Tennis Coach of the Year, and she was inducted into the National High School Tennis Coaches
Association Hall of Fame in 2023.
Coach Crook holds a
master’s degree in Administration and Supervision and is a certified
professional with the USPTR.
