Coach Matt Speight, a lifelong resident of the metroplex, brings his passion for excellence to Eagle Mountain High School. With a decade of coaching experience at the high school level, Coach Speight has coached both boys and girls teams, gaining playoff experience as both a head and assistant coach.

Coach Speight prioritizes the student side of the student-athlete dynamic, fostering academic success alongside athletic achievement. Under his guidance, teams have produced 26 All-State academic athletes at Denton High and actively contributed to the community. Over the past four years, the Denton ISD Charity scrimmage between all Denton ISD schools has raised over $10,000 for Denton County Friends of the Family. He looks forward to continuing to help student-athletes be successful on and off the field.

Off the field, Coach Speight and his wife are celebrating their 20th anniversary this spring. They are proud parents of two children, Emily (9) and Calvin (7), who will surely be the program’s biggest supporters.
